Emergency First Aid (1 Day)

 

What is it?

The 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course is the most basic, accredited First Aid course we offer at Siren Training. This course helps you meet the requirements set out in the Health and Safety regulations of 1981.

This 6 hour course is a great introduction to First Aid training. Learners will leave with the confidence to deal with emergency life threatening situations in a competent way. Our instructors are experts from the Emergency Services who have ‘been there and done it for real’

Who is it for?

The (EFAW) Emergency First Aid at work course is recommended if you work in a “low risk”/office based environment.

The majority of our clients work in the following industries:

  • Corporate

  • Retail

  • Education

  • Low risk sports environment

Emergency First Aid training is the first step towards saving a life and may prove useful for any member of the general public. This first aid course also enables a company to comply with Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 by having the appropriate number of First Aiders in the workplace.

 

Duration

Our 1 day Emergency First Aid course in runs for approximately 6 and a half hours.

 

What will I learn?

Our Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is fully regulated through Aofaq Awards, Ofqual and the QCF framework. Our course uniquely covers adult First Aid and also includes Heart Attack, to the full HSE syllabus. The EFAW course involves practical and multiple choice assessments and you will receive an externally awarded Ofqual Certificate, valid for 3 years.

 

The 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course covers the following subjects:

  • Role of a First Aider

  • Priorities of First Aid

  • Managing an Incident

  • Causes and care of the unconscious casualty

  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Bleeding and Shock

  • Choking

  • Burns and Scalds

  • Minor Injuries

  • Record Keeping & Accident Reporting

  • Practical demonstration and use of an AED
